I have a few thoughts to share with you. Forgive the length - I wanted to quote your words.

In another nation, would you have been able to rant like this? Attacking the nation&#039;s leaders in a public forum without redress? Would you have been able to make these types of personal attacks without something happening to you, your family, your neighbors, your clergy or coworkers?

You speak of respect and truth and dignity and yet you refer to US Senators as &quot;Hillary&quot; and &quot;Mac&quot;.

Is it respectful in your country of origin to speak of the nation&#039;s leaders, including a Former First Lady, who has done a great deal of good work for oppressed women and children, by her first name? Are you personally acquainted with Sen Clinton?

You speak of the brave Americans, who have died defending our country, and yet, you use the disrespectful and derogatory  &quot;Mac&quot; in reference to a former POW, who endured five years in a brutal prison camp so America could continue to exist as a democracy and that you might find refuge here.

Your words: &quot;They are still young enough to believe that politics should be about leadership, honor and truth.&quot;

In an ideal world, yes. Might you share with us where in the world this kind of politicking exists?

Your words: &quot;The moral corruption of democracy but the sick and twisted who wants to win above anything else.&quot;

Did you include Obama?

Where did Mr Obama&#039;s $800 Million dollars originate?

Are you aware of the breadth of fraud involved in his online donations? The two brothers from Gaza who purchased $33K worth of &quot;t-shirts&quot;? The fake names and fake credit card accounts? The charities serving as fronts? The unknown dollars from dirty sources that had to be returned or donated to charity?

Your argument, to me, seems a bit circular when mentioning the press and the candidates themselves.

Have you explored the role of the MSM in perpetuating the personal attacks and false reporting? Where are your comments about the  obvious pro-Obama media bias and how it shaped the election? 

How do you explain how a man, who named Rep John Lewis as one of the top three men he admired, and a woman, who has a proven record of civil rights activism, both left the race &quot;racists&quot;? All of Obama&#039;s opponents were painted as racists - how is this uniting or transcending race?

The press is charged to root out corruption, but they have willingly been corrupted. They have pushed a narrative that is less than truthful. They have inflated an unknown man (as far as his full corroboratable past) to near messianic heights and have steadfastly refused to explore any of the lies and inconsistencies that have come from their chosen one&#039;s own mouth.

How much do you really know about Obama?

How much do you really know about the negative - but truthful - things the MSM has intentionally not reported on?

Have you read &quot;Dreams of My Father&quot; as well? Are you aware that a great deal of it is based on just Obama&#039;s word? That no one can corroborate the majority of it? That his schoolmates say that his angst about his blackness and drug use were overstated? That his story about seeing a picture of a black man, who had tried to bleach his skin, was a compete and utter fabrication? 

The very moment he said he had his racial awakening - the very moment he realized who he was - was a complete lie. And when it was exposed, he lied again.

Is that what you mean by: &quot;You can lie and you can steal. As long as you win.&quot;?

Have you looked into some of the press&#039; and Obama&#039;s own camp&#039;s false accusations about his opponents? There is no need to enumerate them.

For instance, what did you feel when Obama said his parents got together after Selma?

How did you feel when he stood in that church and spoke to an audience filled with men and women descendant from slaves who lived through those violent yet courageous times, men and women who had suffered physical beatings and humiliation, men and women who lost loved ones to lynchings, fire bombings and prison sentences for imagined crimes and told them that he was a part of them? That his parents were inspired by their struggles?

How may folks in that church do you think know Obama&#039;s true family history? How many know that he lied right in their midst about their sacred struggle? That he has never owned up to it and that the press has never held him accountable?

How many do you think know the more sordid truth? That his polygamous, alcoholic father had abandoned he and his mother for Harvard and another white woman? That Obama Sr left his tribal wife pregnant and alone to care for their infant child when he came to America? And that he continued to have relations with her, fathering two more children, while he was married to his second white American wife?

This man, who had been three when the Selma March transpired, this man whose ancestors were slaveowners, this man who grew up in the most racially and culturally diverse state in the Union, where interracial marriages were legal and &quot;haoles&quot; were discriminated against - stood before the folks that made his ascendency possible and lied right to their face. He lied to get their votes - to win.

Is this what you mean by &quot;greatness&quot;?

Where has Obama apologized for saying to the nation that Sen McCain&#039;s supporters were yelling &quot;Kill him&quot; when it was a complete and utter lie? It never happened - Obama&#039;s own Secret Service attested to it. And yet, the electorate was left--is still left and appears will always be left--with the impression that Sen McCain and Gov Palin allowed those (imaginary) comments to be spoken without redress.

How is that &quot;greatness&quot;?

You come to Obama&#039;s defense, but you don&#039;t say why you feel you must.

You write: &quot;You know I support Obama.&quot; - but you don&#039;t explain why.

You write: &quot;And sadly, I don&#039;t think America deserves Obama&quot; - but you don&#039;t explain on what this is based.

You write: &quot;They thought they saw greatness and then it was taken away from them by hate-speech and lies.&quot; - but you don&#039;t explain what you mean by &quot;greatness&quot;. 

If you are referring to Obama, on what is his &quot;greatness&quot; based? In deed - not rhetoric or inciting the crowd with Hope! and Change!?

What has he actually done that would lend him to &quot;greatness&quot;?

Are the &quot;hate-speech and lies&quot; responsible for his ever-changing positions? How much of what he promised in the primaries, while he shouted &quot;I will never lie to you!&quot;, did he flip on in the general election in order to win?

How is that discouraging cynicism?  How is that integrity, superior judgment or transparency?

Are you aware that Obama&#039;s very first unilateral decision with actual consequences will be as President of the United States? And that that decision could involve nuclear weapons and the fate of the entire world?

It is clear you are enjoying the freedoms of American and yet you write: &quot;You should be ashamed for even calling yourself American. You put this country to shame. Shame on you. You don&#039;t deserve greatness because you don&#039;t know what it means.&quot;

You have every right to speak those words, but they make me angry. My father and all five of my uncles fought in WWII. They knew what it meant to be an American and they taught their children what it means. I take exception to you telling me I don&#039;t know what it means. But America exists so that you can express yourself in this manner. That alone explains Her greatness.

I wonder your interpretation of &quot;greatness&quot;. From your words all I hear is hate speech. 

Do you hear it?

What did you want me to gain from your perspective as an African living in America?

What did you want me to feel inspired about with your words?

What am I to take away - other than you proved yourself to be aptly named?

Your words on our Founding Fathers: &quot;But most of all, you should hang your head in shame for what you have done to the Founding Fathers of this great nation. They have sacrificed and fought for your freedom. They were not perfect. But they were honest.&quot;

How proud would they have been of a Constitutional lawyer and lecturer who refused to produce his birth certificate to prove he is abiding by the Constitution they crafted? Although not a Founding Father or  a Framer of the Constitution, how do you think Abraham Lincoln will feel watching Obama put his hand on his own Bible and swear that he will uphold the Constitution that he has thus far ignored?

Are you aware of how presidential campaigns were run back then? Attacks between President Adams and VP Thomas Jefferson covered race, sexual orientation and (lack of) masculinity in one sentence - not $45M television ads.

    &quot;Things got ugly fast. Jefferson&#039;s camp accused President Adams of having a &quot;hideous hermaphroditical character, which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.&quot;

    &quot;In return, Adams&#039; men called Vice President Jefferson &quot;a mean-spirited, low-lived fellow, the son of a half-breed Indian squaw, sired by a Virginia mulatto father.&quot;

Is that what you meant by: &quot;They spew hatred about the mis(character) of potential leaders whether it is true or not. Or whether it is relevant or not.&quot;

What hope have you passed to me?

I am not saying this is right, but bad news sells. Candidates make more headlines and get more press when they bash the other candidates. It is sad, but it is true. I will give Obama credit for one thing, he did try to stay above it. But after his pastor&#039;s videos came to light he was sucked down into it.
 The saddest part to me is that with John McCain wining the Republican nomination, I don&#039;t have a candidate that I like at all. I have nobody to vote for.]]></description>

I was commenting on the reactions of fellow Swamplanders.   But I do feel that Hillary took advantage of the horrible 2-prong attack from Fox and McCain even though she hasn&#039;t said he was a racist.  She did, however, by inaction as well as co-participation (NOT cooperation!) in these attacks greatly enhance the perception that she doesn&#039;t consider the motivations of Fox and McCain important.  In the Black community, that is a political death sentance.

In one of posts on Easter Sunday, I said this on about post #20 or so, but I ask you to please read very, VERY carefully:

I understand your concerns on sexism, and I beleive that Hillary&#039;s campaign is less likely to practice it than Obama&#039;s simply because of differnt perspectives (a man vs that of a woman), sexism is not a good enough reason to ignore the racial hatred that HAS been tacitly accepted by Hillary.

I don&#039;t think Obama hates women any more than Hillary hates Blacks. After all of this, I just cannot say that she does hate Blacks, and I remain convinced she doesn&#039;t.

My brother-in-law has pointed out that there is a difference between one who is a racist and one who takes advantage of racial hatred for their own ambitions.

Hillary belongs in the latter, not the former, category, and has been percieved so by the Black community in general. It is clearly within my purview to categorically state that this is the most common perception in the Black community (keep in mind my exceedingly harsh response to Jim on getting feedback from Black Americans on Where&#039;s Hillary?).

Hillary is percieved as yet another politician who has given into the temptation using &quot;White fears&quot; to futher her own ambitions.

There IS no escaping the end result:

In &quot;winning&quot; this horrid episode, she has lost.

She has NO CHANCE of being able to mend fences with the Black community. ..&quot;

Individual Swamplanders were hypocratical because they refuse to give Obama / Wright a pass they gave to both Hillary / Ferraro and McCain / Hage.  The &quot;/&quot; represent only shorthand, NOT any true associatin.

They have positively screamed (some of them) about how Obama is racist (note he&#039;s both White and Black!) and have villified him in a way that Hillary and McCain were never even in remote danger.

The ultimate hypocracy was that all the while, these individuals relentlessly ignored real racial hatred spouting from real racists in the Republican party.  

It is worthy to know that my commentary was post number 100 and 101.

The thread has died at 104 now, for most of the day.

I will NOT go back to see the effect of my handiwork, and I told them so, but I&#039;m hoping I can get at least a few to exhibit some thoughtfulness about what they have participated in.]]></description>
