I absolutely LOVE this post!!! And, I learned a little bit more about Starbucks; didn’t know that they were that equitably involved in Fair Trade, but good to know…..

I love the stuff myself, although been forcing myself to drink less, and Starbucks, well out in our country setting, not one for miles… but good thing because we ARE trying to stay on a budget.

But, I like to buy it by the bag and we LOVE it at home……

DELIGHTFUL!!!!!!!

@Keven – We also like sitting on our couches and looking at others do the work! You’ll feel right at home. Except we replace the coffee with beer. It gets to hot for coffee the whole time.

Here in America, when we screw something up really, REALLY bad, we ‘slaughter’ it.

So basically, maybe you SA types’ lives ARE centered around toasting chunks of dead animals over fires with special wood in brick ovens, but you can really slaughter a cup of coffe!

The first time I ever had coffee – moer of nie – was in Los Angelas in 1985. I don’t remember where, some momma poppa breakfast place, this was long before Starbucks. It was cuban filter coffee… bottomless…hmmmm. Two hours later I could barely stand up, my entire body was shaking. My American companions where amazed and hugely amused. I have been a coffee connoisseur ever since, grinding my own beans etc. You wont find Riccofy or Frisco in my house. Do you think Starbucks will ever open in my little SA neighbourhood?
