@Keven - Simple logic isn't it?

@EnergyEngineer - I'll focus on the one area where I should be clearer. Bigotry. America isn't full of bigots. This is a pretty awesome country. I should have been more specific. I meant gay rights. Right to marry and be treated the same by the government and by the law. But their partners can't get benefits if they die etc. That's my beef. Oh, I'll think of a few names to call Obama. But it is easier to target the guy who stands against the guy I like!

@alisha9 - Logic...

@SanityFound - Gonna blog on that soon.

I am interested to know your views on what is going on at the moment and how the UN is now involved - from someone who knows Africa's history better than I, someone who is not plagued by the propaganda that we are flooded with at the moment here in SA... your views on the xenophobic killings and what is now being labelled as a war.

I don't know EE.

The point is, your approach has already been tried. The conservatives had their chance, and they not only failed, but they failed horribly. That's not just me, but a lot of people.

Supply side stuff is a failure, faith and charity based equity distribution is a failure. We just don't have the voluntary participation of individuals willing to take your suggestion to heart, and frankly, since it ain't gonna happen, we need another solution besides just ignoring the now 55+ million Americans w/o health care.

Tax issues aren't the answer either. I'm looking at the cost of gas as an example. Everyone bitches and moans about the gas tax, but, you know, at least I know where that 35 cents goes. It gets spent on projects that enhance driving all over the country. Don't forget that in rural areas, their tax base just simply isn't big enough to pay for the infrastucture they have - and this is the biggest single myopy involved in the whole govt waste/overtaxing complaint.

Me, I would rather pay my 35 cents in taxes. We can fix what's broke, but we can't do a thing about the money that goes to the pockets of already-rich CEO's of companies who don't even care about American jobs. That money just disappears and it is a LOT larger cut than 35 cents on the gallon.

I'm basically sick of the darkness and ignorance of the conservatives. They had their shot and they turned our country into a complete mess.

Move over.

McCain Flip Flop? I read and what I heard, and I have no Idea if this is in context the guy supports Hillary,... anyway what I heard was "There are two Parties Fatah and Hamas, the people over there were upset with the Fatah or the ruleing party. So they voted in the "Hardliners for Change." or Hamas. We are going to have to deal with them one way or the other. "

Now this could be taken many ways. What is interesting to me was the question was not answered. The Question was should we have diplomatic relations. The answer is we have to deal with them. So its down to, do you bomb them, negotiate with them, saction them. So clear of an answer. So the only way he could flip flop is if McCain said he should ignore him. How ever that charge of Flip Flop which was so desivating with Kerry won't work on most of our esteemed senators. Kerry made his flip flops with in the space of an hour. Not the case here. All McCain has to say is, We tried this policy and it didn't work in two years. I want to try this policy now.
The names for the Mac are humorous, I think we should give Obama a silly name too. What do you think. Whats fair is fair.
Monster is playing the great america lottory, the civil courts. We apperently have to many laywers createing trouble by stiring trouble up. America could fall on such troubles. It has already turned many in this nation in to greedy uncareing folk who have no sense National Unity or even the help your neighbor out. One reason so many want the social programs maybe. But thankfully that is still a minority of people.
Sampson lists his policies, will no one else. His Logic is perfectly fine. When it comes to spending government money you do or you don't. You tax all incomes or you have an unjust system and disincentives to work hard. He tried to make his solutions palatable to both sides. And ticked off everyone. I certainly don't agree with him.
Oh and when you changed the subject to me it sounded like you lumped him with all the evils you just named, and ignored his suggestions. You didn't answer the question so to speak.
I also don't accept the premise that people aren't recieveing equal rights in the US. What bigotry point it out? I am from the rural areas of the country. I have met OLD people who were bigots, they are shunned and they don't infringe on anyones rights, they are liveing and let liveing lest the comunity has to set them straight.
I don't accept your premise that the US is tortureing people. Its not happening on a wide scale, and on a very narrow scale it is not happening. Stop the dying, flat out impossible, we are makeing the biggest dent we can to stop it under our system of taxes and government which is the best this world has every done. Universal Health Care will not improve the situation. We the People do not handle money right when we do it through the government. Universal health care is a waste. Everyone would do better by skipping a meal once a month and donateing 20 dollars to a health care fund. I don't know if there is a privite charity health care fund but there should be a decent one that takes only aboutl 10 perecent overhead.

Not so organized as my normal commentary goes, but here goes.

Um, poverty is a big problem, but the idea is that our poverty has increased because illegals are crossing the border and swelling the rolls of the poor is a stand-alone self-stupidity display.

It might be pointed out, that US poverty statistics are based on the poverty of, well, US citizens. Illegals don't get counted, Sammy. Score one for relentlessly stating the obvious.

And, well, the way to reduce poverty is to well, reduce poverty, it seems to me.
