McCain Inspiring old white men in Europe:

I think what really is so interesting to Europeans is a sense that what they’ve felt all along since the adventures of Bush’s first term, the airing of damning Katrina videos, the constant hateful drumbeat of bigotry from the right etc etc is in stark contrast to what they are seeing now.

I think, in all honesty, Americans, including – and particularly with considerable joy – many of my Black freinds and relatives are surprised by the sudden, rapid, and totally unanticipated maturity shown by the average American voter.
