The earth has two ways of solving problems: undo, and delete.
“Undo” is what the human race needs to help the earth do, reverse the effects of our existence and hope that the tantrum-prone earth doesn’t hit delete.
However, if the earth has already “decided” that our existence will ALWAYS be a large threat, it will wipe us out completely, no matter what we do.
The things humans do are necessary for our purpose, the code that nature puts in our mind, giving us one task: survive.
The war, the killing, it will always go on. At least as long as humans exist.
And caring about only ourselves isn’t all true. Everyone cares about at least one other person other than themselves. And in all honesty, focusing on yourself first rather than others isn’t all that bad either. I mean, if you don’t take care of your own needs, you’re in no condition to care for ANYONE.

I agree with you, but we need to stop it. People doesn’t look for a way to change, the way has to get to them. At my school we made it. A couple of students dreamed a way to help people. When they got some resurces and the needed permission they started. It’s a group of students and doctors that visit comunities with limitwd resurces and give them free medical care, food and talks about sex education, violence, nutrition and some psicological care. It’s an awesome way to care for others and a way to help those who need it. I’m from Mexico, my country needs a lot.
This group started with four people who wanted to help. This is just it second year and we have almost 150 students and we hope that this year the crew grews. You can help other, but you need to star now, you don’t know how many people will love to help you, and you’re not just helping others. You help yourself as well.

@Andreas – I am sorry if you misread what I meant. I never meant that people are of equal monetary value. Or that we want the same things. Or that people will do equal things. All I am asking is What Are You Doing? In all honesty, I know I do more than most. But that is because I can and because I work in an area where it allows me to do more. I don’t agree with you on why Africa and other developing nations are struggling – overpopulation, less jobs and resources. Less jobs – yes. But overpopulation? That is in the eye of the beholder. Would you say China is overpopulated? Or New York for that matter. The level of development is too low and not because of overpopulation. In some places yes, but in most places not. It’s a simple question – not whose fault it is or what’s the reason or should everyone be the same. Firstly, with everything that you have… What Are You Doing?

@Emma Rose – Thank you for the kind words. And thank you for seeing it for what it is. Just a piece about something that bothers me. Not meant to be an instruction or deeper meaning of evolution as some people might read. Just a question.

@kate – You don’t have to agree with me on evolution. Heck, I think I made some serious mistakes on evolution in the piece in any case. But tell me, if you are from God and believe in God – What are you doing? Do you speak out against war? Do you pray for other to seek peace instead? Do you feed people like God told us? Do you treat everyone with equal respect and not judge them for thinking differently from you – like God taught us? The 10 Commandments are pretty straight forward. And the Bible is about love. But why do we see so much war? The point is. You don’t have to agree with evolution to ask the question. Arguing the evolution point is a distraction from the bigger question. I don’t think God is going to ask me whether I believe in evolution or not. He might, but I am sure he won’t ask me about that first. He’ll most likely go through those 10… Peace, love, sharing etc.

Ok. I disagree with the fact of evolution!!! I believe that God made every single thing on this earth and that there is no such thing as evolution…he didn’t make one organism and let that organism evlove into every animal on earth. I highly doubt that we “evolved” from a fish. You guys can believe what you want to but evolution to me is NOT true. I agree this blog is well written but it is not true to my eyes!!!

It is a really meaningful piece, with well placed illustrations, and it hit on several points I had in my mind but couldn’t have phrased as well as here.

I don’t like the way you targeted this at everyone, some people donate money to charities once a month ect. I doubt you don’t have a job, sit in front of the tv, want the newest and best things? Some people are living better than others, and even though it’s sad, but can you imagine a world where everyones equal? No ones richer than anyone else, everyone gets the same amount of everything, no ones stronger than anyone else can you imagine that? It might be what you want now but you would realize how boring it would be after the first few days without people being better than others our social structure would collapse. Why have a president when everyone else could be one? Why should I have a sales position when I should be a CEO, I’ve got the same skills as the CEO why can’t I be him?

Why go to the movies when you have the same acting skills as them?

Why buy a cd when I can sing exactly the same?

Even though this will never happen, if people in third world countries had the same amount of income an average American family gets, it would sure as hell help them alot but that can’t happen due to overpopulation, less jobs, and low resources.

So stop blaming it on all of us as It’s not our fault even though we waste our lives watching tv remember that time enjoyed wasting is not wasted.

If you really wanted to you can freeze your leftovers and send them to Africa
