Wow. I feel ya. You know, I'm a white lesbian and I never could understand straight folks, especially black folks or women (of any color) that don't support and stand up for gay rights.

I mean if you think about what african americans and what women had to go through to get their rights and then some of them have the audacity to want to take rights away from a certain group of people.

That just blows my mind. I mean these folks were either there and they lived it or they heard about it through family and friends or learned about it in school and yet it's like they learned absolutely nothing about civil rights........just makes me shake my head.

@vanessaleighsblog - I know. I should be more patient. But I am getting sick and tired of being patient when it really shouldn't be our problem that they have a problem. And I am not sure they will listen either. Bigots don't change that easily.

You know, the one thing that strikes me about this post and the discussions we all have been having is the fact that if you were to just change a few words we could be back 20 years ago. I could never understand why I wasn't allowed to be friends with "them", the "unbelievers", the "sinners". Back then it was race now it is sexuality.

So here is the truth. If someone is against the Apartheid that we had, someone who believes all races are equal turns around and castigates/curses/rejects all notions of sexual freedom be it out of bigotry or out of religion then they are hypocrites. In my books they can go eat their words for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I remember questioning why I couldn't have mixed race or African friends, I will never forget. I will never forget sitting in church and hearing how "they" are unbelievers and subrace. People who are against same-sex relationships, people who say it is a sin, they are no better than the Apartheid regime.

I will not see them as they see themselves, each word coming out of their mouth will be discredited.

Apologies I think I just wrote a post
Wait I am going to make this a post!

I try to be patient, I try to have an understanding of why some people view a gay person the way that they do.... but sometimes, I just don't get it. What would Jesus do? He would love me, UNCONDITIONALLY, for being who His father created me to be... it really is no more complicated than that.....
